CHECK IN; CHECK somebody or something IN

Read these sentences carefully.

In summer days it’s a good idea to check in two hours before your flight because the airports are really crowded.

While I was checking the visitors in, the computer broke down.

We’ve just closed the flight. All the passengers have been checked in.

When I arrive in Paris, I will go and check in to my hotel.

MEANING

Check in somebody: to take somebody’s name, check their reservation, give them a key etc…

Check in something: to leave or accept luggage to be put on a plane.
